Instability between hearing aids and Apple phones
What’s the impact?
The connection between our app and the hearing aids will be interrupted until the user uncouples the hearing aids and couples them back with the iPhone. As a consequence, the user won’t be able to control the hearing aids through the app until the situation is resolved.
Which devices are affected?
The issue may occur on all iPhones updated to iOS 15.4 and may arise with all hearing aids.
Below are the steps to temporarily overcome the issue:
Upon every iPhone reboot:
Delete the pairing.
Open your iPhone® and go to “Settings”.
Ensure Bluetooth® is active. Then choose “Accessibility”.
In the “Accessibility” screen, choose “Hearing Aids”.
Tap “unpair this device”.
Tap “Confirm”.
iOS returns to search mode.
Re-pair your hearing aids.
1. Restart your hearing aids to put them in pairing mode.
For non-rechargeable hearing aids, open and close the battery door.
For rechargeable hearing aids, turn them off and on again to put them in pairing mode.
Do this on both hearing aids if you have two and place them near the iPhone.
The hearing aid remains in pairing mode for three minutes.
The iPhone will detect the hearing aid for pairing.
The detected devices will appear in the iPhone’s list.
Confirm the pairing.
If you have two hearing aids, confirmation of pairing is needed for each hearing aid.
